Jeremy Camp Grade: B- “Beyond Measure” BEC Recordings 12 tracks @ 45:36
I liked both of Jeremy Camp’s first two records “Stay” and “Restored.” His third release, “Beyond Measure,” features similarities to both.
“Tonight” has a great crunchy guitar open and at one point reminded me of The Raspberries. Camp describes the title track “Beyond Measure” as a worship song.
Camp say, “All of my songs are worship songs. . .but this is a straight up worship song like you’d hear in church.”
Other than a brief falsetto on one of the tracks, fans of Camp’s previous works will probably be comfortable with the same old sound here. Camp provides the scripture (including several of Paul’s letters) behind most of the songs on “Beyond Measure” in his PR material, but for some inexplicable reason none of those verses are listed in the disk’s linear notes and that’s a shame.
