Sean Smith Sean Smith has been nominated for three 2007 Independent Christian Music Momentum Awards; Song of the year, Male Vocalist of the year, and Inspirational Artist of the Year. Smith says his ministry has little to do with music. “Music is just the vehicle God has given me to communicate His truth,” he says. “I want my music to connect with people in a real way, a way that is life-changing.” As a vocalist, Smith reminds me some of Steve Green. Musically, this disk is along the lines of Adult Contemporary. Fans of Steven Curtis Chapman and a less-edgier Jeremy Camp may like this record of inspirational music. I liked the title track, which includes the lyric, “All that I’ve created are fairy tales and dreams.” A “Man of Meaning” is one who “has strong conviction. . .and shows mercy.” “Shut Out the World” focuses on solitude while “The Edge of Forever” is uplifting. “Words of Grace” makes a lovely lullaby. Smith left a successful sales job to pursue music. “God has been so faithful throughout the entire process. Even though we are heading into the unknown, because of His faithfulness in the past we can trust in the steps we take today and tomorrow.” - Rob S. |
