Hillsong Live Savior King Integrity Music 14 tracks @ 76:43 Grade - B
This was recorded live in Hillsong’s hometown of Sydney, Australia. There are several familiar names on this record, including the venerable Darlene Zschech.
Zschech says, “On the night of the recording our church united as one to worship and give thanks to God. The atmosphere was truly electric as the sound of thousands of worshippers reverberated throughout the auditorium. The album is meant to give encouragement not just to the worshipers here in Australia but throughout the whole world, to help express their love to God.
“The true test of ANY song, whether musically profound or incredibility simple in its content is always the church, as they decide which songs help them express what is pounding in their hearts to say.”
“To Know Your Name” and “God of Ages” are a couple of the standout songs.
This record represents one of the reasons I’m not a big fan of live recordings. On the guitar-driven songs, for example, it’s difficult to follow the lyrics.
There are companion products including CD Trax, CD-ROM Songbook, print songbook and a DVD of the live worship event.
After only two weeks from its release, this record peaked at number five on the Billboard “Top Christian Albums” chart. A week later it slipped to 10.
