T-Bone
Bone-Appetit!
Flicker Records
Grade: A
T-Bone's Bone-Appetit! Servin' up tha Hits! album is another hit. It is
a combination of the top songs from his last three albums, two songs not
available on his previous releases, and three brand new songs.
T-Bone is one of the most talented rappers I have heard. His beats have
a west-cost style to them which means they are a little slower and have
a Latin flair to them. But as impressive as his beats are, it is his
rhymes that really set him apart from other artists. He can rhyme so
quickly and clearly that you wonder how his mouth can move so rapidly.
T-Bone's style is a refreshing change of pace from other artists.
One song that I think really displays T-Bone's talent is his song called
Name Droppin'. In this song he takes the names of other Christian
artists and well-known preachers and teachers and ingeniously ties all
of them together to tell a intriguing story.
My one desire for future T-Bone albums would be to have more adoration
in his songs. A lot of his songs are about different situations and his
personal story. I would love to see more of a worship focus in his
lyrics.
Even if you have most of his CDs, this is a worthwhile purchase.
T-Bone's lyrics and beats, as showcased in this album, are definitely
worth checking out.
