David Crowder Band Remedy Sparrow Records Grade – A
Let’s start from the ending, “Surely We Can Change.” This song, the last on the CD, is the heart of the CD with its call to action. From the chorus;
Where there is pain, let us bring grace. Where there is suffering, bring serenity. For those afraid, let us be brave. Where there is misery, let us bring relief. Let us be the remedy.
It’s a loft goal these days to try to raise people to action from a song, but the efforts of the Crowder Band are not known to stop at a mere song. As a worship leader, David Crowder smartly uses music as a median to connect and in this case, to call the listener to action. Much of the album has that feel and whether it is a call to worship or a call to reach out with grace, “Remedy” does well to inspire it all.
Back to the beginning, “The Glory of it All” and “Can You Feel It?” are a carry-over of the modern worship that according to MSN, the David Crowder Band has “redefined” in CCM. There is no doubt that this band has had a huge impact through their ministry, particularly in the youth/college groups.
The band is nearing the end of their “Remedy Club Tour” however I am sure there will be more shows at a later date. For more information check out the official DCB website.
