Chris Taylor Chris Taylor is a recent signee to BEC Recordings. He hails from the great state of Florida and his walk of faith is a story that we are all too familiar with. Chris stated in his bio that he was not actively searching for God, while at the same time he was not on an intentional path of deviance either. I believe he was in that place where we often find ourselves - lost. According to Chris he found salvation in a car ride. At the time he was riding with a teenage friend whom his family had taken in. The friend shared the gospel with Chris on this particular drive and although Chris’ initial reaction was of surprise and offense,it eventually led to a life changing salvation experience. Subsequent to this experience, Chris picked up playing guitar and eventually found himself leading worship in a youth group. A second experience that was pivotal was Chris’ encounter with fellow worship artist Matt Redman. Chris was inspired by Redman’s authentic faith and humbleness. It was during this experience that Chris realized that he was looking for personal recognition for what he was doing and his motives were checked. After this humbling encounter, Chris began pouring himself into a study of theology. He also continued to write songs that led to the eventual recording of “Take Me Anywhere.” The overall feel of “Take Me Anywhere” is a mix of modern music and vertical lyrics. The writing is at times very complex and it shows great potential for Chris’ future as a songwriter. “Take Me Anywhere” is 13 tracks strong and for a debut it shows great promise. Ken W. |
