Meredith Andrews
The Invitation
Word Records
Grade – B

Meredith Andrews is a new worship artist recently signed to Word Records. Although she is new to Word, she is not a rookie when it comes to leading worship. Meredith’s journey began in childhood when she started singing for her church at the age of six as well as spending time singing southern gospel with her mother for various churches.

Meredith’s professional pursuit in life did not start out in music. She attended Liberty University and was studying family and child development. While attending Liberty she discovered that she enjoyed leading worship and she began to feel like this was a calling in her life. Subsequently, she was asked to move to the Chicago area to lead worship at Harvest Bible Chapel. From there she eventually found herself signing a contract Word – a totally unintended consequence of following God’s leading.

Her Word debut, The Invitation, is a respectable debut with some real powerful worship melodies like “Deeper,” “You’re Not Alone,” and the piano driven “The River.” The message is very clear and completely vertical. I can easily see these songs being popular on the radio and in the church. Meredith has co-written all of the tracks on the CD with producer Jason Ingram.

The Invitation is an exciting new release for worship fans. The upbeat tempo, angelic voice, and edifying lyrics all work together to make a moving experience.
