Here We Go Again
Fervent Records
Grade – B

It may be a bit of irony that pureNRG was the opening act for the farewell tour of Jump 5, or at least it could be seen as a passing of the torch maybe. Like Jump 5, pureNRG is a youthful group marketed at the Disney Radio audience. Their sophomore release, Here We Go Again, touts the same high-energy as their previous release. The CD is well done in this manner and at the same time it contains a strong gospel message.

The young ladies of pureNRGare using this medium in particular to speak to girls in a personal way, “BFF,” and “Girls Can Change the World.” While most of the CD focuses on the upbeat juvenile dance tracks – the ladies do a respectable job covering Nicole C. Mullen’s “Call on Jesus.”

All together the album is quite fitting for its purpose. Although that purpose is not for me (a middle aged white male) I can see how fitting this project is for teens. For that purpose, I think that Here We Go Again is a worthy addition to you’re teens iPod collection.
