Tenth Avenue North This debut has some interesting songs. The band’s sound is melodic rock. As for their purpose, singer Mike Donehey says “Simply, our mission as a band is to know Christ and to make him known. It’s a grand adventure.” The first single, “Love Is Here,” has garnered the band some radio attention; I don’t think it’s necessarily the best track. “Lift Us Up to Fall” has some great lyrics. I also liked “Let It Go” and “Times,” which sounds almost mournful, tired. “Satisfy” is another good track. The only thing that might hold this band back is developing a more distinctive sound. You might catch them at a major Christian music festival this summer. - Rob S. |
