Twenty Hymns is a package deal. The CD case is in a book format and in the book are recipes and stories of a simpler time. A time when families enjoyed time together over a meal singing songs of praise to the Lord.

The artwork within the book gives it a nostalgic feel along with the traditional southern gospel orientation of classics like “Blessed Assurance,” “Fairest Lord Jesus/My Jesus I Love Thee,” and an upbeat “Old Time Religion.” All together there are 20 (as the title states) old time gospel hits.

Twenty Hymns is a good piece of history that makes a great gift. I can imagine that those who regularly used hymnals in church would enjoy this CD to no end. And for those of us who have been raised on the more modern worship today, Twenty Hymns is a reminder of a foundation that was very important to those who have come before us.
