The Beginnings Concert is a live CD/DVD collection of performances by legendary contemporary Christian artists. The performance was recorded over two nights at the Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Texas. The event brought together trailblazers like Dallas Holm, Leon Patillo, Barry McGuire, Don Francisco, Chuck Girard, Steve Archer, Janny Grein, Dony McGuire, Reba Rambo McGuire, and David Meece.

Although the performers were playing their original tunes,they gave them new arrangements to give them a more contemporary sound. The CD/DVD collection features three hours of music, testimonies and extras. The primary period covered is from the late 60’s to the early 80’s. Additionally, this collection covers the more inspirational and gospel format of the time and not the emerging gospel rock of the same period.

The collection was originally released in November of 2007 without major marketing or promotion. (I don’t know if this was a personal choice of the producer or a sad statement of the current industry commercialism.) In spite of the lack of promotion,the project has seen a strong grassroots movement. The project will nowbe distributed more widely this summer.
