Warren Barfield I have always thought of Warren Barfield as a singer/songwriter type with generally an acoustic style of music. However, on Worth Fighting For, the style is more rock/pop. The CD has a cool vibe and the pop tunes are very catchy. Lyrically Worth Fighting For is fresh and highly original. Warren has penned all the songs with a few collaborations here and there. The first single, “Love is Not a Fight,” is a very personal song that was written after Barfield and his wife had an argument and it really hits to the core of what a Christ-centered relationship should be about. It’s a challenging song that makes myself as a husband rethink my priorities. Warren’s explanation of the song, that can be found on his official website, is something that I want to have posted around as a constant reminder of the selfless nature that love should be. The overall album is just as poignant as the first single. I believe that Worth Fighting For is a testament of Warren Barfield’s talent to take a message (a worthy message) and deliver it in an accessible format to encourage others. - Ken W. |
