The second installment of Bart Millard’s hymns titled Hymned Again, was recently released on INO Records. There is a lot that is notable about Millard’s hymnal projects. First the song selection, Millard likes to pick old classics that are near and dear to his heart. It’s not necessarily what you would expect. The hymns are rearranged but they still hold a nostalgic significance of a traditional church service. The new arrangements take on a zesty New Orleans sound and Millard’s voice is in perfect form. Lastly, when reading the press materials,Millard talks about how his children have memorized all of the lyrics from his first hymns project. That alone is worth his time and any investment he may have in the projects. In the end it comes down to eternal significance and the old hymns are a blessing.
