The music of Keith Green has been packaged and repackaged many times since his passing. Amazingly, with only four studio releases prior to his death, there is no shortage of timeless classics to repackage.

Providentially, there is a decent quantity of stored tapes and recordings of Keith live on stage and in the studio that has never been released. From these hidden gems comes the latest round of releases on Sparrow Records.

The latest round of releases includes a new Greatest Hits, The Live Experience, and The Live Experience: Special Edition. All three releases contain some never before released materials and free materials you can download. However, all of the downloads are the same no matter which CD you launch the downloads from.

The music of Keith Green is very special and his past example of servant hood and desire to be more Christ-like in all aspects of life is both encouraging and convicting.

By far I would recommend The Live Experience: Special Edition. I can’t imagine why anyone who wants this collection would not want the extra DVD with 4 hours of material. The not so “special” edition just comes with the live CD and no DVD.

Why is it even an option to not get the DVD? There are three individual packages to decide on when it could have been one nice box set. I think after 25years, Keith’s music deserves a more fitting tribute instead of a prolonged marketing campaign.

Either way, the marketing and packaging detracts nothing from the powerful ministry of Keith’s music.
