The band Kessler was formed in 2005 and their YMA label debut, I Know Your Voice, was released in early Summer2008. The band has a straight up American rock band sound. In some ways the band reminds me of Building 429. That being said, my chief criticism would be that there is little to distinguish them from other mainstream rock bands. In some ways,it all depends on how or if the listener (or radio stations) connect to a single. It was a single that eventually landed them a contract with YMA and it will probably be a single that makes a difference for them on the radio as well.
On their MySpace page the bands bio includes a statement about the band wishing to convey some “truth” in their music and about sharing their spirituality through their music. I can appreciate a good song, but I want to know more – directly – as to what the message is. However, to their benefit, I think the message of “Perfect” is fairly clear. I don’t really know where this album will be distributed. It may or may not be marketed to Christian radio. However, I would recommend checking out their MySpace page yourself if you’re interested.
