Remedy Drive is from Lincoln, Nebraska. They are literally a band of brothers; David, Philip, Paul and Dan Zach. Their debut record is produced by Ian Eskelin of All Star United.

The result is a nice sounding record of straight-ahead rock ‘n’ roll. However, the lyrics are generic.

Here’s a typical sample from the opening track “Come Up.” “I say its time to know you. . .more than I’ve been told.” If you hear this song on a Christian station you’ll “get it,” otherwise it could air on any commercial station and be just another pop song. The entire record takes this approach.

Song themes include encouragement (King of Failure, Here’s for the Years), hope, search for meaning (Upgrade) and rejuvenation (Right Side). Nothing wrong with any of that but let’s hope the band can become a little more bold on future releases.

The band’s website offers a fair amount of insight into the inspiration behind the lyrics; the word “kingdom” gets used a bit, but “Jesus” or “God” not once.
