“Rock What You Got”

Some of the songs here really rock, bringing to mind the Pat Benetar of the 80’s. I love “Rock What You Got” and “Alive.” Great rockers, good lyrics. The girl-power song “So Beautiful” is another good rocker. The ballad “Breathe” is full of encouragement. “Hey Hey” has to be a crowd rouser in concert.
The real problem with the band’s latest studio release is its brevity. Take away the useless “Alive Prelude,” the disk-ending guitar jam (I’ve heard way better) and the remix (!) of “Standing in the Rain,” and you’re down to under a half-hour of new music.
Lots of good music here, just not enough for a full-length CD. If you’re looking for a “God count” in the lyrics, there’s not much to go on.
