The band Nitengale hails from the great state of Alaska (Fairbanks)and their piano driven rock has earned them much attention. The band worked their way into an Artist Ovation contest and from out of nowhere they won the whole thing! The win earned them a deal with Word Records for an upcoming national release.

I ran into the band at Lifest (Oshkosh, WI) this past summer and due to a persistent band mother, I witnessed one of the most amazing live shows I have ever experienced. I have never seen anyone attack a piano like Josh did and the guitar work was amazing. All together they were a very tight playing band with a load of talent.

The CD, like their live show, is like raw emotion packed in an artistically layered piano/guitar driven sound. The music is so dynamic it was hard to believe this was such a young band. There is truly talent and some divine intervention on their side.

The self-titled CD is 13 tracks long and has a running time of 56 minutes, almost a whole hour of stylishly formed rock that explodes with passion. I highly suggest checking out the bands website at http://www.myspace.com/nitengale.
