Mission Six

Mission Six
Superhero
Infinity
Grade – C

Not much to say about this release except that the only difference between this and most of the Disney created pop is that these five are all male. To their credit they are apparently a real band and not a concoction of Disney. The five guys hail from Evansville, IN and the name is derived from the fact that all five members have Godin their hearts; therefore they are Mission Six (not five).

Listening to the soundtrack you would think they were influenced by the likes of Joy Electric, as there is a lot of synthesizer on the album. However, most of the album is just straight out tween-pop. Lyrically it is not a real challenging CD and I think that it’s more fitting of even a younger crowd than the 12 – 14 age group.

There is a need, and a market for Disney-pop music, but unfortunately some of the projects in this market are kind of generic. I admire their effort to put God in the spotlight, but the music is just not something I can get behind.
