The Praise Baby Collection The latest installment of the Praise Baby series is framed around lullabies and it keys on the 1 – 36 month old child. As a family we have always found that the Praise Baby Collection DVD’s have had a calming affect on the small children. It seems natural that a lullaby project would be a part of this collection. However, I have to say that there seems to be a conflict with playing a DVD and expecting a child to go to sleep to it. The CD on the other hand can be played quietly in their room while they are going down for a nap or for the night. As it is suggested in the liner notes, the CD makes for a great sing-a-long for the musically challenged parent. A greater resource would have been lyrics and chord charts for the arrangements that are new for the CD/DVD. Ultimately, I love the Praise Baby series and as a parent it is a valuable resource that has proven to sooth many a beast (read crying babies). The new CD/DVD will still be an asset even if we don’t use the DVD as a bedtime tool. The song selection alone makes it a worthy children’s project. I believe in exposing children to a variety of music from the traditional hymns, “Hymn Medley,” to the more contemporary hits like “Indescribable.” The song selection has always been a strong point for the Praise Baby series.
