Abandon The band Abandon has been compared to bands like U2 (not so much in my book) and The Killers (who?). Their sound is basically rhythmic rock with a lot of guitar and the vocals of Josh Engler are defiantly a highlight. By the way, the band is 4 parts family and 1 part friend with brothers Josh Engler (vocals) and Justin (rhythm guitar), cousins Dave Vela (drums) and Steve (lead guitar), joined by Bryan Fowler (drums). The themes of the songs are spiritual and my personal favorite is the lead track “Providence,” which is based on the story of Peter’s denial of Christ. The second favorite is the atmospheric worship oriented song “All Because of You.” The band is planning on an early 2009 release of its first full-length album, something to look forward to for sure.
