I don’t understand the reason for this record.
This disk contains songs from the four solo EPs of Switchfoot’s lead singer. It’s being marketed as “fans favorites.” There are two “new” songs. I say new because my guess is that these tracks didn’t make the original cut but fans voted for them online. Whatever.
The EPs followed a clear theme based on the seasons of Fall Winter Spring and Summer. Those records haven’t even been out for a year and yet here’s a compilation. The songs are in what seems to be a random order, with two tracks each from the Spring Fall and Winter releases. Four cuts from Summer are also on this disk.
Foreman says, “I write questioning songs. I’m interested in reading philosophy and trying to figure things out. The melodies come to me quite easily so it’s the poets, philosophers and psalmists that help me put the melodies where they belong. The songs assist me in the challenge of knowing who I am, so the shoulders of great writers are a good place to start.”
