Parachute Band This is the second disk from the reconfigured New Zealand-based modern worship band. The band’s mission is to lead people of all races and ages in worship, using songs as a tool to see lives changed and hearts connected with God. One of the group’s favorite verses is Hebrews 13:15. The new disk follows the theme about how a lack of either physical or spiritual water can mean a lack of life and color. I liked the up-tempo poppy-rock numbers, including “Come to the River” and “The Greatest Love.” Radio is getting “Living Rain” and “Your Word.” Drummer Sam de Jong says, “Water equals life, equals full blazing color when we live with God at our side. For us, this living water is God’s love, grace and mercy flooding and cleansing our lives as we worship him.” He says, “This theme also ties in to our heart for social justice issues and in particular our work with World Vision in Rwanda. In our travels we have seen places and people that are in desperate need of both physical water and God’s living water. As a band, we feel challenged to put actions to our faith.”” Look up the band on MySpace. This release also includes a live concert DVD. Rob S. |
