Country singer Faith Hill offers up a Christmas blessing with Joy to the World, her first holiday release. The new album focuses on Hill’s beautiful voice,as the soundtrack is very subtle and at times non-existent. It runs a more traditional sound and it’s a delightful project.
According to the press materials, the album took 2 years to be completed. The project features the Nashville Orchestra as well as the London-based choirs Metro Voices and The London Oratory School Boys Choir. It has also been noted by Hill that this will likely be her only Christmas project, mostly because she wants to make it special and not just another CD.
I am not a fan of modern country, but I know who Faith Hill is and I know that her vocal ability is amazing. I think that she has really put her heart into this project and if you read her short statement of the Christmas CD web page, you see that her heart is in the right place for such a project.
