11 Live: Jars of Clay In Concert
Jars Of Clay
Essential

Almost two hours of the 11th hour, which was originally taped for a pay-per-view special. Hits that are featured include "Crazy Times", "I Need You", "Fly", "Revolution", and "Flood", spanning from their humble beginnings to the present.

Things have certainly changed for Jars, and you can see that in just the show alone, with the addition of strings and a huge light show. Interjected between a few songs are personal interviews with the band and the audience. The interjections are entertaining but certainly not insightful, more for fun than getting to know the band.

Jars of Clay have reached out to the non-Christian market in the past and this video is soft enough that it should fair well in that market. Of course Jars have taken much criticism for this approach in the past. As much as I wished there was more testimony I had to remind myself this wasn't a worship video. Jars have pronounced their faith and defended their decisions to go in this direction more than enough.

That said, the video is the best of Jars and is on a level that is very personal. Particularly the four song acoustic set that feels more on a spiritual level. Reading through the archives on www.jarsofclay.com really enlightened me more and made it easier to just enjoy the video and not be so critical.
