“God loves, God gives; We believe, We live.”

That, in a nutshell, is the message of the Bible.  It’s also the focus of the best-known verse in the Bible, John 3:16. This DVD is a tie-in with the latest work from author Max Lacado.  Lucado says, “If you don’t know anything about the Bible, start here.  If you know everything about the Bible, return here (to John 3:16).”

I haven’t read the book so I don’t know how much material in the DVD appears in the book.  However, the DVD stands on its own.  Lucado digs deeper into this verse by exploring each of the key words.    For example, in the portion titled “Heaven’s ‘Whoever Policy,” Lucado says “’whoever’ is wonderfully indefinite.”’

The 12-chapter DVD includes the short film “Wherever You Are.”  It’s a prodigal story of a young woman who makes some bad choices.  While it’s a little sappy and predictable, the story is about selfless love.  Youth groups and parenting groups would get something out of viewing this.
