Big Idea

Save the Planets! is the newest release chronicling the journeys of four penguins and two friends traversing across the galaxy in a toy spaceship. This release includes three full episodes available for the first time on DVD. The lessons are well played out in the usual comedic style as previous releases and their Big Idea cohorts the Veggie Tales.

However, I did notice that the new adventures start out differently than previous releases. In the early releases the stories always were object lessons for the kids who dream up the adventures as they were playing with the penguins and their toy ship. In this release the kids are already on board before the story starts. This is like going to Mr. Rogers’ land of make believe without the trolley!

The stories are longer than expected,and watching all three episodes at once may be too much for toddlers. That’s not such a bad thing though because you really get your monies worth with the length of the stories.

The Penguins are hilarious characters and the lessons are significant. In the same manner as the beloved Veggies, the Penguins entertain and educated all at the same time.
